Freelance Client/Account Manager

Freelance Client/Account Manager. Initial 3-4 month holiday cover with the possibility to extend. Fully Remote.

About us

We’re Jory&Co — a global design studio here for creativity with conscience

Since day one, we’ve partnered with brands and organisations making a social or environmental impact. From climate action to community empowerment, we use brilliant design to help visionary clients bring change.

We’ve been fully remote since before it was cool — with a team spanning the UK, Ireland, Spain, New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa. This international setup gives us a global perspective and lets us work smartly across time zones to deliver ambitious, creative work.

We also care deeply about how we work together. No egos, no hierarchy, no office politics — just a team of good people doing great work from wherever they are. We believe in flexibility, trust, and treating our people like humans, not resources.

About the role

We’re looking for a mid-weight Freelance Account/Client Manager to join our small but mighty team — someone who can confidently manage digital, branding, and publication design projects from start to finish. The initial contract will be for 3-4 month holiday cover, with potential to extend.

You’ll be the bridge between our clients, creative and digital teams, ensuring projects run smoothly, on time, and to brief. You’ll help shape timelines, lead client communications, brief designers and developers, and spot potential issues before they become problems.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who’s highly organised, confident in managing multiple creative projects, and genuinely passionate about work that drives positive change.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage a range of website, brand identity and report design projects from concept through to delivery
  • Collaborate closely with our distributed team of designers, developers, strategists, and client managers
  • Work confidently with developers and digital strategists — from scoping functionality to reviewing builds and managing WordPress CMS population
  • Support with content population and carry out QA/testing on websites to ensure everything works as it should before going live
  • Be the main point of contact for clients — building trust, leading meetings, and ensuring clear communication
  • Ensure feedback is clear, realistic and aligned with project goals
  • Track budgets and milestones, keeping everything on time and on point
  • Spot potential issues early and proactively solve problems
  • Ensure deliverables meet both our standards and the client’s expectations
  • Write or refine briefs, scopes and timelines with support from Directors

About you

  • 3+ years proven experience in a creative or digital agency, working directly with clients
  • Strong knowledge of digital (especially WordPress) with an understanding of brand development and application
  • Confident communicator who can write clearly, speak with warmth, and bring structure to complexity
  • Laser-focused attention to detail (you notice when a logo is 2px off or a deadline is at risk)
  • Proactive and reliable — you don’t wait to be told what to do
  • Genuinely care about the quality of the work and the impact it creates
  • Comfortable working remotely and managing your own time
  • Be flexible and have a “Team first” mindset
  • Must be based in European Timezone (working within GMT ±2 hours)
  • You’ll need to have your own equipment/laptop
  • Must be fluent in English, both verbal and written

Nice to have

  • Background working with purpose-driven or sustainability-focused organisations
  • Knowledge of tools like Notion, Google Workspace, Figma, Slack
  • Understanding of other digital tools like Framer and Webflow is welcome but not essential

What we offer

  • Flexible remote working with a kind, collaborative team
  • Projects that create real-world impact
  • A high level of trust and autonomy
  • Potential to grow into a long-term role

The role

We’re busy in the studio and on the lookout for an independent, ambitious, talented, ego-free, friendly, senior designer who’s passionate about doing work that makes a difference and enjoys remote working.

The role is fully remote and involves taking the lead on designing across brand, print and digital. You’ll design everything from brand identities and impact reports to websites, while collaborating with our creative team.

We’re looking for an all-rounder but ideally someone with a strong background in digital design and understands the nuances of digital projects, i.e site map planning, presenting digital designs, bringing the digital brand to life, creating special interactions and design magic on the site, briefing developers, overseeing the build and working in CMS.

We don’t usually build massive and complex sites, we create brochure and marketing sites, with our developers in WordPress or Webflow.

You’ll like autonomy and working on more than one project at a time. We know how to make things happen and create great work from home. We’re also an international agency, with teams UK, New Zealand and Australia. This not only gives a global perspective but also allows us to be smart and responsive during the working week by playing to the time zones.

As a small down-to-earth team, you’ll be collaborating with everyone. No hierarchies, no egos, just a bunch of passionate, talented, like-minded people doing our best for great clients that make a real difference.

We’re ten years old and the business has evolved by being a boutique collective of creative freelance senior strategists, designers, writers, account managers, developers, consultants and specialists.

Relevant experience/requirements

  • 6 years minimum experience working in a design/branding agency
  • Inspiring portfolio full of beautiful design across brand print and digital
  • Comfortable leading on projects from start to finish
  • Outstanding typographic and layout skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe Suite
  • Experience in WordPress and Webflow digital design
  • Past experience briefing and liaising with developers
  • Strong eye for detail and pixel perfection
  • Good knowledge of HTML, CSS and motion is a bonus
  • Confident presenting to colleagues and clients
  • Independent manager of workload and deadlines
  • Ability to handle several projects at one time
  • Good communicator and attention to detail
  • Remote working with your own machines/laptops, etc.
  • As we work with the team in New Zealand, our day starts at 8/8.30am
  • Have a flexible approach to style of working and be a team player – this is a small team, and we all get involved in everything
